Congratulations to the Language Center's Kate Hein!

Kate Hein, the Language Center's undergraduate TandemPlus Assistant, has been awarded the Ming Li Tchou Scholarship from the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES)! Combining majors in Global Studies and the AMES Chinese program with a minor in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, Kate has ambitions to eventually serve in the United States Foreign Service following graduation. This scholarship will support her in her Chinese studies and her overall goals.

In her work with the TandemPlus program, Kate helps participants at the University and abroad find individual language partners. She also serves as the President of the TandemPlus Student Association, leading the student group's efforts to host monthly events for participants of the program. The Language Center is fortunate to have her. Congratulations, Kate!
