Zoom Chat Woes – Upgrade Your Client

Is Zoom Chat still not behaving as it used to? To fix the problems outlined in last week’s ElsieTalk, check for updates for your Zoom Client. This will only take a moment. Open the Zoom Client, and under the Zoom.us window, select Check for Updates, and install the newest version. This should fix Chat problems.

One caveat: if you are sending links via Chat, be sure you use the complete URL. Leaving out the http:// or https:// will result in a link that may not be clickable by your meeting participants.

If you experience a technology glitch or surprising behavior from a university program like Zoom, please do not assume it has already been reported. Contact Technology Help, and encourage your students to do the same.
