Curricular Toolkit

Innovative and real-world focused opportunities to use the target language and engage with different cultures - that is what the Curricular Toolkit is all about!

Through our TandemPlus program, we offer instructors assistance in integrating telecollaborative projects with language partners around the world into their courses.  Learners can also register for an independent face-to-face conversation partner here on campus or virtually through online video conferencing technology.

The CLA Language Center works with instructors to support the development and implementation of useful assessment tools to improve the teaching and learning of languages.  One such tool is the Basic Outcomes Student Self-Assessment (BOSSA), an online self-assessment training program that helps students become more autonomous in their language learning.  Instructors can schedule a BOSSA session in one of our computer classrooms.

The Language Center also partners with CLA’s Committee on Second Language Education (ComSLE) to contribute to the internationalization of the University’s curriculum, helping students participate in academic work in their chosen language.
