Congratulations to the following University of Minnesota School of Music students who placed in the Schubert Club’s annual Bruce P. Carlson Student Scholarship Competition.

  • Liam De Pauw, guitar, second place (Guitar III)

  • Gideon Scheeler, piano, second place (Piano III)

  • Fuman Yang, piano, first place (Piano IV) 

  • Zirui Wang, viola, second place (Strings IV) 

  • Galina Dordevic, violin, third place (Strings IV) 

  • Yuwen Sun, voice, second place (Voice II) 

  • Zixuan Guo, voice, first place (Voice III)

The Bruce P. Carlson Student Scholarship Competition, held each spring, awards a total of over $70,000 annually to young musicians to be used for further musical education. Read more about the competition
