Professor Emeritus Rebecca Shockley Publishes Revised Edition of "Is There a Piano in the House?"

Professor Emerita of Piano Pedagogy Rebecca Shockley, has just published a revised and expanded edition of her mother's memoirs entitled Is There a Piano in the House?. Her mother, Dorothy Stolzenbach Payne, was a well-known pianist and teacher in Cincinnati for many years. She was pianist with the Cincinnati Symphony for 20 years (beginning under Fritz Reiner in 1926) and a longtime friend of Percy Grainger and many other famous musicians. Originally published in 1985 by the Keyboard Cub (which she founded in 1935), the book now includes new photos, letters, programs, and stories, and is available on Amazon.
