Two Exhibits Feature the Work of Clarence Morgan
This January, Professor Clarence Morgan's work will be featured in two group exhibits: the Department of Art - Nash Gallery's The Beginning of Everything, and in CHROMA at the Tory Folliard Gallery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Professor Morgan is a a visual artist whose studio focus is centered on painting, drawing and printmaking – often of an abstract nature. Utilizing random shapes and biomorphic forms within an intricate network of drawing, collage elements and subtle color, Morgan’s work ranges from highly patterned organic painting compositions to meticulously articulated and somewhat minimal collage-drawings. His featured work demonstrates a masterful interplay of line, form, and color. At the heart of the Nash Gallery exhibit artist respond to the question, "What is a drawing?" While CHROMA, is an exhibition of contemporary painting and sculpture that focuses on intense hue and abstraction. These collective shows demonstrate Professor Morgan's continous commitment to artmaking and provide another example of the high quality faculty found at the UMN Department of Art.
