When making images, viewfinders enable photographers to see, compose, and focus. Latinx immigrant artists are also themselves view finders — challenging perceptions, redefining realities, and reshaping the world around them. This multimedia collection of recorded conversations and photographs features works by Silvana Agostoni, Sebastian Alfonzo, Mikha Dominguez, Martha Gabriela Driessen, Selma Fernández Richter, Nicolas Jaramillo, Andrés Pérez, Rio Pérez, Lucino Sosa, Xavier Tavera, and Irving Vazquez. Viewfinders/ Miradores is presented by Serpentina Arts and curated by Sebastian Alfonzo, Maria Cristina Tavera, and Jessica Lopez Lyman.

Serpentina Arts is a collective of Minnesota-based Latinx visual artists dedicated to fostering creative and professional development throughout their community. Nurturing a sense of solidarity, they support artists at every stage of their careers and helps them achieve their professional aspirations through collective action.
