Prof. Frieda Ekotto (PhD 1989, UMN) elected 2nd vice-president of MLA

Prof. Frieda Ekotto, who earned her Ph.D. from our Dept., has just been elected 2nd Vice-President of the MLA (Modern Language Association).  This means that in two years she will become the MLA's President.

"Frieda Ekotto (Univ. of Michigan, Ann Arbor) was elected second vice president of the association. She will serve in that office from 11 January 2021 through the close of the January 2022 convention and will automatically become first vice president in 2022, serving in that office through the close of the January 2023 convention. Her term as president will begin after the close of the January 2023 convention and will continue through the close of the January 2024 convention."
