Professional Development
The Language Center consults with departmental leaders and faculty to create timely professional development events. You can learn about upcoming events on the News and Events page, and through our Communication channels. We also regularly promote professional development and other relevant events from campus partners and in our newsletter and other channels.
Groups & Events
We host workshops for the language education community on campus. Past topics have included:
- Accessibility and student-centered design
- Inclusive pedagogy
- Language for specific purposes
- Professionalization and career exploration
This group forms once at the beginning of fall semester: and meets throughout the year
- Uniting researchers in a safe & supportive environment
- Opportunities to workshop articles & practice your presentations
- Open to everyone at the university engaged in applied linguistics
The Language Center brings together language program directors and coordinators for regular meetings and social events to discuss their shared vision and challenges in their language programs.
Generally held the week before fall classes begin:

- Community building
