Dana Matthiessen has accepted a two-year postdoc position at the Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science, starting in August 2023. Dana joins us from The University of Pittsburgh, where he was a visiting lecturer in the History and Philosophy of Science. He earned his PhD in History and Philosophy of Science from Pittsburgh in 2022, and his MA in Philosophy from Georgetown University. He will be pursuing his research on the philosophy of scientific representations, the historical development of models and experiment in molecular biology, as well as extending his doctoral work on contemporary issues in data-driven biology.

We welcome Dana to the MCPS community.

This postdoctoral fellowship is made possible by a generous donation to MCPS. It is intended that MCPS will host two postdocs each for two years. Another postdoc position will be posted for August 2024.
