New MCPS postdoc Corey Dethier

Corey Dethier is joining the MCPS for a two-year postdoctoral position as part of Samuel Fletcher's NSF-sponsored project.

Corey Dethier is joining the MCPS for a two-year postdoctoral position as part of Samuel Fletcher's NSF-sponsored project, A Modern Philosophy for Classical Statistical Testing and Estimation. Corey received his PhD in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in 2020 and has spent the last two years at Leibniz University Hannover working on philosophical questions surrounding the use of statistics in climate science. Besides philosophy of statistics and climate science, Corey is also interested in philosophical questions related to science communication, the proper role of values in scientific methodology, and formal epistemology.
