Hawley Named New Director of MCTFR

Rachel Hawley

The Minnesota Center for Twin and Family Research (MCTFR) is continuing their excellent administration with the appointment of Rachel Hawley, MA as the new director of the center.  She has a master’s degree in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University in Boston, Massachusetts, with a focus in nonprofit and government-funded project planning and implementation.  Hawley has worked with the MCTFR in various capacities for a total of 9 years that span the last 12 years.  Hawley was first introduced to the MCTFR  when she and her sister participated in their research.

Former MCTFR Director, Kevin Haroian, recently retired after 40 years at the University. Hawley said of the transition, “I am honored to accept the role, and feel the burden of filling Kevin’s shoes. His contributions built and supported most of the IT structure, the organizational structure, the scientific strategy, and the operational foundation that the MCTFR still utilizes today. I hope to do justice to his legacy, by continuing to support and develop the high level of research and integrity that is the MCTFR.”
