Dominique Johnson

Dominique is a proud alumna of the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities! She obtained her degree in Psychology and Sociology of Law, Crime, and Justice and has been working in a professional setting at UMN-TC since 2019. Having previously served as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor, she realized that she greatly enjoys being able to connect with students on a personal level that empowers them to fiercely pursue their academic interests. In her advising role, she centers students’ autonomy, empowerment, joy, and community. Accessibility and advocacy are at the forefront of the work she does and aspires to continue to do. As a first generation college student, this is something she knows is crucial to student success – academically, professionally, and personally. She is currently pursuing her licensure to become a Clinical Therapist. If you are interested in, or nervous about, the process of applying to graduate school, she is always open to sharing her experience!
