Kevin Gahona

Kevin Gahona is a MLK Academic Advisor and grew up in the northeast suburbs of the Twin Cities. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Catholic Studies and Family Studies, then completed his Master of Arts in Leadership in Student Affairs from the University of St. Thomas in 2024. Kevin has worked in various roles, including positions at the multicultural center, first-gen initiatives, off-campus student life, admissions, and deans of students. Through these experiences, he has advocated for students to fully understand the hidden curriculum of higher education. As a first-gen college student himself, attending college during the pandemic opened his eyes to the nuances he was unaware of about higher education. Kevin aims to shed light on these matters so that other students can maximize their resources.
In his free time, you can find Kevin hitting the gym with his Push/Pull/Legs routine, playing soccer or basketball with his friends, or enjoying some gaming on his PS5. You may also catch him at T-Wolves games here and there. When he's not being active, he'll spend time with his family.
