Madyson Sklar (she/her) graduated from Drake University in May of 2022 with a B.A. in Sociology. While at Drake, she led many diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) initiatives and promoted a lot of institutional change that helped her become the Oreon E. Scott Outstanding Senior of the Year. Raised by parents and family members who are passionate about DEIJ, Madyson follows in their footsteps. She considers herself a passionate, year round learner with a focus on making higher education more accessible for BIPOC students. Madyson recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with her M.A. in Higher Education.

During her time at the university she has served on the planning team for the annual Juneteenth Celebration, taught a course in the College of Liberal Arts, and co-curated a networking event for Black women at the U called "The Queens Gathering". When she has a moment to initiate research, she focuses on campus policing and Black student activism. Her passion for advising came about after teaching the CLA First Year Experience course from 2022-23 and 2023-24. Madyson believes every student can make their dreams come true and is dedicated to serving as a guide along their way.
