Location & Offices
GNSD’s offices are in Folwell Hall, part of the historical center of the University’s campus. Built in 1906-07 in Renaissance Revival style, Folwell is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its brick and terra-cotta façade boasts sculptural Gothic features and 26 chimneys; on the first floor are carved oak doorways, fireplaces, and Italian marble walls.
Folwell dominates the Minneapolis campus’s northern edge and is just steps away from Dinkytown (a University-oriented area with cafés, restaurants, small shops, and bookstores) and within bicycling or jogging distance of downtown Minneapolis.
