Our graduating Master of Human Rights students came together this past weekend (5/17/2021) in a virtual commencement ceremony to celebrate with family and friends and to take note of the many accomplishments of the past two years.

Our 2021 graduates have worked tirelessly through the most difficult of times, pushing through both a global pandemic, heightened social injustice and uprisings in our own city. They persevered through this year with incredible strength, and as stated by HRP director Barbara Frey in her commencement remarks, “You stood firm in your principles, you served as personal examples of the kinds of leaders we are desperate for in this complicated historical moment.” We join in honoring this group of skilled, resilient, creative, and tenacious human rights professionals. We are so excited to see what the future holds for each of you.

Leading up to graduation, we posted profiles of each of our graduating MHR students on our social media platforms. Now, you can view these profiles in full.

Congratulations to our MHR 2021 graduates, we hope you remember the words of Director Frey: “We see you. And we acknowledge your ambitious dreams and your impressive accomplishments. I have no doubt that you will push the bounds of human rights because you have already done so. I am proud to have been a small part of your life journey.”
