This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Human Rights Program, founded in 2001 for the purpose of mobilizing knowledge to advance human rights. We are excited to celebrate this milestone by sharing stories about the people and events that have shaped and been shaped by the Program since 2001. It has been my honor to lead this Program since the start, which has given me the privilege of engaging with so many gifted students, faculty colleagues, and partner organizations in a collective journey to imagine, create and promote more just and equitable communities.

In a 20th anniversary series of communications to be released via our website and social media we will share the voices of former students, and reflect on the Program's many events, projects and achievements in furthering human rights over these two decades. The Program has had a far-reaching impact on the ideas and actions of its alums, who continue to embody the core human rights values in their life choices.

We have also hosted landmark events to address crises, to launch path-breaking research, and to reflect upon the significance of human rights work in all its aspects. Our work has been multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary, broadening the perspectives and methods for understanding how we can protect human rights more equitably and sustainably locally and globally.

We are grateful to you, our supporter, for the role that you have played with the Human Rights Program, whether it be as a donor, a volunteer, a student worker, a faculty adviser or researcher, or as a reader who shares our commitment to fairness, equity and dignity. We have much to celebrate as we enter the next era together.
