2018 Vagantes at UMN
On March 22–24, 2018, the Center and the University of Minnesota hosted the Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies, which is the Medieval Academy of America's graduate student conference and the largest conference for graduate students studying the Middle Ages. Founded in 2002 and hosted each year by a different institution, the conference featured three keynote lectures, thirty student presenters, and an audience of around one hundred people. Vagantes emphasizes interdisciplinary scholarship and features participants with backgrounds across the humanities and social sciences. Through this interdisciplinarity, Vagantes fosters a sense of community for junior medievalists of diverse backgrounds.
Keynote Lecturers: Michelle Hamilton, David Townsend, and Jonathan Lyon
