Degrees

The Department of Philosophy is noteworthy for its emphasis on the individual student's research interests. Our graduate programs provide students with the opportunity to develop as a scholar through interest groups, seminars, and faculty mentoring.

The department offers two avenues for graduate education:

• MA in philosophy
  For students with a career outside of philosophy who would like to add an advanced degree in philosophy to their credentials.
• PhD in philosophy
  For students preparing for an academic career in philosophy or other related disciplines.

We also offer a graduate minor to students enrolled in other University graduate programs.
