Join Dr. Melissa Koenig’s Early Language & Experience Lab as a Research Assistant! We're looking for motivated and detail-oriented undergraduates, particularly those studying child development, psychology, linguistics, or philosophy. However, students from any major are welcome to apply if they have a strong interest in our research areas. As an RA, you'll gain hands-on experience in research by assisting with stimuli development, participant recruitment, data collection, and lab organization. We value excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in working with young children.

*Credit or Volunteer* Culture and Family Life Lab - CPSY 4994

The Culture and Family Life Lab, under Dr. Gail Ferguson, studies how parents, schools, and media socialize children and adolescents around culture and race. We use mixed methods in our research, meaning both quantitative surveys and qualitative observations or interviews, and we often collaborate with other labs within ICD and across departments. We are currently looking for undergraduate research assistants interested in working with 5-8-year-olds and their mothers in this study -- both in-person and on zoom -- especially on weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends. Research assistants may be involved in scheduling, assisting young children in completing a set of tasks/games, or facilitating a mother-child storybook reading task, etc. If you are interested in learning more, visit their lab website and apply with a Google Form

*Credit or Volunteer* Developmental Social Cognitive Neuroscience Lab - CPSY 4994

The Developmental Social Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, with Dr. Phil Zelazo and Dr. Stephanie Carlson, focuses on the research of developmental social cognitive neuroscience, with executive function (conscious control of thought, action, and emotion) at its core. The lab adopts a multi-level and multi-method approach to the developmental outcomes of executive function, including genetic, neuroimaging, behavioral, cognitive, and socio-cultural studies.

Dr. Michael Bronstein’s lab is seeking motivated students interested in gaining hands-on experience in psychological research. RAs will be required to attend a weekly lab meeting and dedicate ~5 hours per week to lab duties. Preference will be given to rising juniors and seniors, individuals with previous research experience, and those who can commit to the position for at least two semesters. Research assistants in good standing will have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities, potentially including data analysis, assisting with publications, and developing their own poster presentations. If interested, please contact Blair Brown at brow6522@umn.edu and attach an unofficial transcript and resume highlighting previous research experience and relevant accomplishments.

Students will participate in identifying, retrieving, and organizing studies, as well as coding relevant research for a quantitative synthesis. We prefer a 2 semester commitment, and the availability to continue research over the summer is a plus! Interested students should submit the Google Form, including a CV & unofficial transcript.
