Mark Snyder Added to SPSP Heritage Wall

Mark Snyder

We are thrilled to announce that Mark Snyder is the latest prominent psychologist to be added to The Society For Personality and Social Psychology’s (SPSP) Heritage Wall. The Heritage Fund Initiative honors the legacy of our field's most important scholars, by providing a connection between generations of scholars in personality and social psychology. Those who are inducted are commemorated for their contribution to research, teaching, mentorship, and/or service and the lasting impact they have had on the field of psychology.

Snyder has been chosen for his decades-worth of contributions to personality and social psychology, examining what drives both individual and collective behavior. His research explores the psychology of self-concept and identity, the dynamics of how people interact socially, and the mechanisms behind pro-social action.

You can learn more about Snyder’s detailed work and read tributes from students and colleagues on his Heritage Wall page.

Mark Snyder, PhD, McKnight Presidential Chair in Psychology, and Director of the Center for the Study of the Individual and Society, in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota.
