Nathan Kuncel Appointed to APA Joint Commission

Nathan Kuncel

Congratulations to Nathan Kuncel for being appointed to the American Psychological Association (APA) Joint Commission for the revision of the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing after being selected from nearly 200 nominees.

The American Psychological Association (APA) has collaborated with the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) to create the Standards, which are considered the top guidelines for testing in the U.S. and other countries. Over the next few months, the Joint Commission will revise the standards and then consider feedback from a wide range of partners to ensure that the updated standards remain the best quality advice for psychology and related fields.

Kuncel states that he is  “delighted and honored to be selected for this group. Accurate assessment has been a major contribution of psychological and educational science. Updating the Standards to incorporate new evidence and methods is an important duty.”

Nathan Kuncel, PhD,  Marvin D. Dunnette Distinguished Chair in I-O Psychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota.
