We are hiring: First Year Writing teaching faculty

About the Job

The University of Minnesota Twin Cities First-Year Writing Program invites applications for a teaching specialist or lecturer position. This position has an anticipated start date of fall semester 2022 (8/29/2022). This is a full-time, nine-month, annually renewable academic appointment with a 3/3 teaching load and professional development/engagement within an expanding, dynamic first-year writing program with over 35 full-time faculty. Courses assigned could include Writing Studio, First-Writing in blended or asynchronous, fully online modalities, or Community Engaged Writing, and all courses serve linguistically diverse populations. Course enrollments cap at 19 students.

Our First-Year Writing program is in the Department of Writing Studies. We actively and intentionally support: inclusive learning and workplace environments, and the well-being of our faculty and students. Our FYW program foregrounds a process approach, multimodal writing, rhetorical awareness and information literacy. We are actively committed to developing equity-centered practices in our classrooms and program.
