Mason Jones is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology whose research focuses on youth, parenting, families, race and racism, emotions, and sport. His dissertation investigates how youth sports shape emotional bonds and relationship building within Black stepfamilies (also known as blended families). Mason is also a contributor to The Society Pages, where he publishes research-based commentary and helps make sociological insights more accessible to the public through media engagement.
