Landers Research Cited In Forbes

In a recent article covering the relevance of Glassdoor, an online job rating website, Forbes quoted Richard Landers, PhD, associate professor of industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology. The article, “Making Sense Of ‘Muddy’ Glassdoor Rankings,” examined how online ratings compare to other measures of job satisfaction. Landers provided valuable insight into how and why online job ratings are considered by employees.

Landers’ study, “Crowdsourcing Job Satisfaction Data: Examining the Construct Validity of Glassdoor.com Ratings,” was also noted. The study compared job satisfaction surveys from government agencies to Glassdoor ratings. Ultimately, the study concluded that it is beneficial to consider “the combined use of both traditional and crowdsourced data on organizational characteristics for both research and practice.”

Research in Landers’ TNTLAB focuses on I/O psychology, including the impacts of new technology, artificial intelligence, gamification, and human resources technology.
