NeuroPRSMH Featured at the American Psychiatric Association's Conference

NeuroPRSMH (NeuroPlasticity Research in Support of Mental Health) is a transdisciplinary group of researchers from the University of Minnesota's departments of Psychiatry & Behavioral Science, Neuroscience, and Psychology, as well as the University's Institute for Health Informatics. NeuroPRSMH’s research was recently featured at the American Psychiatric Association Conference in a video that highlighted the group's work in using computational models to research decision-making in animal and human brains. Department of Psychology professor Dr. Nicola Grissom finds this modeling to be helpful in understanding how minds make decisions, particularly under pressure, while Dr. Angus MacDonald III's interest in cognitive control stems from trying to understand schizophrenia. Both note the impact of NeuroPRSMH in providing a space for collaboration with these models.

Nicola Grissom, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota.

Angus MacDonald III, PhD, Distinguished McKnight University Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota.

NeuroPRSMH seeks to find novel approaches and treatments to psychiatric conditions, and improve the quality of life for the people living with them.
