New Autism Research

Headshot of Dr. Nicola Grissom

Dr. Nicola Grissom reflects on new research regarding genetic variationsin autism in a Neuroscience News article “Genetic Variation and the Diverse Range of Behaviors in Autism.” At Neuroscience 2022, the annual Society of Neuroscience conference, researchers presented findings on potential biological and genetic variations that contribute to the range of behaviors associated with autism. Grissom says these studies confirm the genetic component of autism that naturally exists. Furthering our understanding of these genetic variations and celebrating neurological differences may combat the stigma surrounding autism.
