The Psychology Department is hosting the Spring 22 Town Hall for undergraduate students. The goal of these town halls is to connect students directly with the Department of Psychology leadership. If you are unable to attend this event, you can leave comments/questions in the form; feedback will be shared anonymously at the Town Hall. 11. Summer Research Institute - Florida Mental Health Institute

The Summer Research Institute (SRI@FMHI) is designed for students interested in building their research skills within the context of substance use and co-occurring disorders to help them prepare for a Senior Thesis and/or graduate school. The SRI@FMHI consists of four components: an independent research project conducted with guidance from a distinguished faculty mentor; research seminars; professional development seminars; and skill-building workshops. The research seminars will complement the research that students are conducting with their faculty mentors. Throughout the 11 weeks, students will work intensively with faculty mentors on their research projects. In addition, students will gain experience with research ethics, IRB practices, and will participate in a community rotation to gain experience with substance use services in an area related to their research projects. 12. Think Like a Researcher Workshop

Research (like everything) continues to look different due to Covid-19 but it hasn't stopped. Our faculty have been creative and students researchers have risen to the challenges. The University of Minnesota has unparalleled opportunities for undergraduate students to engage in real research and creative projects -- from a scientific lab to conducting survey research, to researching historical documents in an Archive, to choreographing a new work. These require students to take their skills to the next level. Do you want to learn more about how to get started? 13. Multicultural Summer Research Opportunities Program

The Multicultural Summer Research Opportunities Program provides the opportunity for talented undergraduate students to seriously prepare for study and acceptance to graduate school through the development of strong relationships with faculty, access to a series of preparation seminars, and intensive research experience. 14. *Credit or Volunteer* Autism Clinical Research Lab Clinical Research Coordinator

The Autism Clinical Research Lab at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB) is looking for a clinical research coordinator to volunteer in our lab. Our research focuses on clinical outcomes from a variety of treatment programs implemented with children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related neurodevelopmental disorders (including anxiety, ADHD, learning disorders). Responsibilities of this position may include administration and scoring of surveys and other assessments, data entry and management, preparation of treatment and research materials, and other tasks as assigned. Coordinators are also welcome to participate in the preparation of academic presentations and publications according to experience and capacity. Opportunities for credit may be available. Preference will be given to students who can commit to a year in our lab. 15. Discover Dental School: Preparing to Apply Program Application

The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry will be hosting the Discover Dental School program for predental students Wednesday, June 1 - Wednesday, June 22, 2022. The program will run part-time, with some sessions occurring during the day (around lunchtime, if possible) as well as evenings and/or weekends - to enable more prospective dental students to participate who may already have summer plans. This program is free for participants! The exact format of the program is still TBD, plan for a hybrid experience. Students selected to participate in this program will be provided with training, resources, and experiences to strengthen their skills and assist them in creating a competitive application to dental school. Experiences will include DAT prep, connecting with current dental students, and hands-on activities. The application deadline is Sunday, March 6, 2022, @ 11:59 pm CST - no late or incomplete applications will be accepted/considered. 17. Autism & Neurodevelopment Clinic Trainees – Evidence-Based Therapies

The Autism and Neurodevelopment Clinic at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB) is looking for students who would like to gain experience in evidence-based therapies as volunteer trainees in our clinic. Our clinic provides group therapies to address social skills, anxiety management, and the transition to adulthood. On a less frequent basis, we also offer art therapy and parent coaching for parents of children with ADHD. Trainees would gain experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 8-25) with autism spectrum disorder and/or related neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., anxiety, ADHD, depression) and their caregivers. Responsibilities of this position may include preparation of treatment materials, co-facilitation of therapy groups, writing of clinical progress notes, and other tasks as assigned. Opportunities for credit may be available. We ask that students commit to 5-10 hours/week in our clinic. Preference will be given to students who can commit to at least a year of training. 18. WATCH Court Monitoring

WATCH became part of The Advocates for Human Rights in June 2019. WATCH has been monitoring Hennepin County Courts for more than two decades and has recently added court monitoring in Ramsey and Washington counties. Its established court monitoring of trafficking cases complements The Advocates' decade of work to combat sex trafficking in Minnesota. Without monitoring and accountability, systems fail to protect women. By integrating new and existing volunteers, The Advocates will continue to use court monitoring and documentation to change and implement laws to end violence against women. Learn more and apply today.

22. Behavior Therapist - Behavioral Dimensions

Behavioral Dimensions provides intensive services to children with autism and related conditions. We are currently hiring undergraduate, college graduates, and graduate students from colleges and universities studying in a wide variety of human services fields. We at Behavioral Dimensions believe that the experiences we can offer students give them excellent opportunities to apply what they are learning in the classroom to real-life situations. Students will learn how to implement research-based behavioral techniques to teach young children a wide variety of skills as well as how to prevent and respond to challenging situations. Students receive many hours of training and support by professionals from several different disciplines, all with experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis. Many jobs in the human services field require a degree, internship, and experience in order to be hired. We can assist in providing the required hours of experience and the internship while students are completing their degrees. All of our services are provided in the families’ homes, so we are able to place employees close to their homes throughout the metropolitan area. In some cases, we are able to provide the training and supervision required for specific internships and practicums. 23. Seeking Full-Time Clinical Research Coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital

The focus of our research is on self-injury and depression among youth. We are currently looking to hire one to two full-time clinical research coordinators to assist with studies aimed at improving short-term risk prediction for suicidal behavior in adolescents. Studies assessing proximal risk for suicidal behavior use computational methods to model neurocognitive markers and/or ambulatory indices (i.e., mobile technology including actigraphy, passive sensing of physiological arousal, passive sensing of social engagement and physical activity, and ecological momentary assessment) in psychiatrically hospitalized youth. Additional studies focus on employing computer vision to identify visual indicators of suicide risk among adolescents. Research coordinators will work under the mentorship of Dr. Richard Liu and Dr. Taylor Burke at Massachusetts General Hospital. These positions are particularly well suited for individuals seeking to gain research and clinical experience prior to graduate or medical school. The start date is Summer 2022.
