Why did you decide to study psychology?

I decided to study psychology because I found it fascinating that real-life problems and experiences could be studied in a scientific way.

Tell us about your research at the University.

My research includes examining racial differences in pubertal timing and how that affects an individual's well-being, mental health, and social processes.

What would have been helpful for you prior to applying?

It would have been helpful for me to know that I don't have to have everything about research and career all figured out. Graduate school is an important part of figuring all of that out.

What would you like potential applicants to the PhD program to know?

Find an advisor who will be supportive to you as a person, not just your academic endeavor.
