Butcher Honored at Korean War Veteran Ceremony

On Friday, May 21st, 2021, Professor Emeritus James (Jim) Butcher traveled to DC to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the Korean War Veterans Memorial Wall of Remembrance. This wall will be a new permanent addition to the existing memorial and will include the names of American servicemen and Korean Augmentation to the United States Army who gave their lives defending the people of South Korea.

During the event, President Moon Jae-in of South Korea spoke and thanked veterans for their service and sacrifice. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan were also among those in attendance. Jim was selected for this honor to represent the veterans who served during the war by the Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation.
