Psych Undergrad Advising's Thompson-Eja Receives 2019 Undergraduate SEED Award

The Undergraduate SEED Award honors outstanding undergraduate students at the University of Minnesota whose focus is on issues of equity, diversity, and social justice, and who demonstrate creativity and the potential for future excellence in their field.

 

Emame Thompson-Eja is a peer advisor in the Psychology Undergraduate Advising Office since Fall 2017 and a junior in the Psychology B.S. program. She has worked hard on increasing diversity efforts in our undergraduate program including working with the Association of Black Psychology Students. Emame is involved in the N.I.C.E lab and in the Child Wellbeing Research Group in the Institute of Child Development. This past year, she also helped found the student group H.O.P.E (healing, overcoming, persisting, and encouraging) to bring more education about ACEs (adverse childhood experiences). 

 

The award will be announced at the University of Minnesota‘s Equity and Diversity Breakfast on Monday, November 4, 2019.
