Remembering Alum and Psychedelic Pioneer Roland Griffith

On October 16, 2023, alum Roland Griffith (PhD ‘72) passed away. After earning his degree from the Department of Psychology, he went on to continue his work at Johns Hopkins University. He was a pioneering researcher for psychedelic and mood-altering drugs that led to a new area of study and the creation of the nation’s first psychedelic research center: Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research.
