Dr. Jeff Simpson (Col), along with Drs. Elizabeth Carlson (PI), Kathleen Thomas (PI), and Glenn Roisman from the Institute for Child Development (ICD), have received a 5-year R01 grant of $3,019,000 from the National Institute on Aging (NIA) for their project titled "Adult cognitive, neurobiological, and epigenetic indicators of aging: Impact of adversity and early caregiving."

The grant will run from 9/1/22 to 8/31/27. The goal of this project, which focuses on participants from the longstanding Minnesota Longitudinal Study of Risk and Adaptation, is to examine whether exposure to adversity along with the quality of care early in life are prospectively related to adult cognitive functioning and markers of early aging.

Jeff Simpson, PhD, Distinguished University Teaching Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota.
