4. IOPC Event: Graduate School Panel

Want to know what it takes to be a Ph.D. student in I-O psychology? Having difficulty choosing grad schools and programs, or even where to start? Maybe you aren't sure if you'll even survive in grad school? We've got you covered! The Industrial-Organizational Psychology Club is having a Grad Panel next Monday featuring 5 graduate students at the U's I/O Program where you can hear about their experiences and ask any questions you may have. Everyone is welcome, even those outside the major. Bring your friends, even your family! Pizza, brownies, and various beverages will be provided courtesy of M Dining. 5. Psych Club Meeting: Psychological Thrillers

6. Apply to Psi Chi, the International Honor in Psychology!

Psi Chi is the International National Honor Society in Psychology. It's a great way to improve your resume and become eligible for new opportunities within the field of psychology. 10. Child Psychology Fall Research Fair - Learn about Research Opportunities in ICD!

Are you looking for Psychology RA positions for spring, or to get involved with research in other ways? Join the Child Psychology Student Organization for this annual event to learn about all kinds of research labs and opportunities in the Institute of Child Development. Students can get involved with research via CPSY 4994 credit or as a volunteer. This is a great way to get to know other students, faculty, and staff, and there will be free food! RSVP appreciated though not required. 

Psychology majors interested in earning credit in the major for CPSY research: be sure to carefully read PSY Directed Research Guidelines online for instructions on how CPSY 4994 can be counted in the psychology major.

11. Today! Multicultural Funding Fair

Join MCAE for the Multicultural Funding Fair starting at 4pm today! This event will feature scholarships, internships, grants, jobs, and other funding opportunities for current students, as well as info sessions led by One Stop and US Bank. There will be food, prizes, and entertainment! No registration necessary - stop by whenever your schedule allows during the 4-6pm timeframe. 12. AANAPISI Scholarship for Asian American & Pacific Islander Students

The AANAPISI Scholarship supports Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) students to complete their college education. Seven U of M AAPI students will be awarded up to $2,500 from the Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF).Get help with applying and writing your scholarship essay by visiting the Asian Pacific American Resource Center (APARC) in Wulling Halll 430. SWS Writing Consultants in APARC can work with you from the beginning to the end of your scholarship essay. Applications are due November 2nd.

15. UMN-Duluth Master of Arts in Psychological Science Info Session

The Master of Arts in Psychological Science (MAPS) at the University of Minnesota Duluth offers a terminal Master's degree that prepares graduate students with research-based knowledge and skills that are essential for acceptance into doctoral programs and successful careers in organizational, educational, clinical, and counseling settings. We are one program with three integrated tracks: Clinical-Counseling Psychology, Experimental Psychology , and Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Join us for an information session on Friday, November 3rd to learn more about our graduate program. In addition to an informational session hosted by the Director of Graduate Studies, students can meet with our faculty, speak with current graduate students in the program, and tour our facilities.

16. Intern with the Office of Governor Mark Dayton

Excited about state government? Intern with the Office of Governor Mark Dayton and Lt. Governor Tina Smith! This internship program affords students the opportunity to earn college credits and valuable professional experience. The purpose of the internship program in the Office of Governor Dayton and Lt. Governor Smith is to enhance educational opportunities for currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students or recent graduates. The program is offered year-round. Interns commit to at least 12 hours a week; schedules are flexible between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday- Friday. The Governor's Office is now accepting applications for spring 2018. The application deadline is October 31st. Applicants will be contacted regarding the status of their application by November 14th. 17. Academic Tutors Needed for Communiy Parter of UMN

This position is in support of the families (elementary, middle, and high school students) served through a UMN Pre-College Program. The position involves working collaboratively with families and high school/middle school/elementary age students in the Twin Cities Region. Flexible hours (preferred weekday and/or weekend evenings) - students can choose between 6-20 hours/week. Hourly rate is $20/hour. Ideally seeking students who meet the following criteria: undergraduate student who can stay in the position for future academic years; experience interacting with diverse populations; college-level mathematics skills (able to tutor students in elementary-calculus level math); experience/interest in teaching English (writing, grammar, sentence structures, etc.); comfortable learning (or refreshing) on math areas; interested in working with highly motivated, first generation or ELL students.
