Data Analysis services are available through the Liberal Arts Technologies and Innovation Services (LATIS) who serve faculty, students, and staff in CLA, other colleges like the Carlson School of Management, and the University more broadly. LATIS focuses on Enhancing Learning, Advancing Research, and Improving Process. LATIS assists researchers with:
Planning for your analysis, including:
- Data analysis plans for grants
- Study and experimental design
- Data management
Preparing data for analysis, including:
- Data cleaning (merging, reshaping, reformatting)
- Developing reproducible workflows
- Extracting metadata from surveys and statistical software
Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods analysis
- Gathering, organizing, and analyzing social media and web data
- Providing access to shared computing resources and software
- How to connect to CLA-provided qualitative tools
- Training researchers on data analysis tools such as R, SPSS, Stata, ATLAS.ti, NVivo, and Python
- Statistical consulting hours and appointments
- Assisting with development, parallelization, and debugging of algorithms, computational models, or other research code
Research informatics and visualization
- Consulting on strategies and tools for representing data visually
- Facilitating use and access to HPC resources available at MSI or national research centers
