University Research Services
- Research Data Services: The University Libraries offer data management education, consultation, and services for individuals, lab groups, departments, and courses. Sections on this page include NIH data management and sharing policy; Education; Consultations; Data Repository for the U of M (DRUM); Data management plans; Find and access data; Good practices; and RDS data partners.
- Statistical Consulting Center provides fee-for-service statistics and data science support. No statistical background is required in order to collaborate with SCC. SCC can help you design experiments and surveys, select and perform appropriate analyses, interpret results, and write about statistical methods and results. Common projects include grant proposals, journal articles, student theses, and responses to reviewer comments.
- University Survey and Assessment Services (USAS) has been in the business of data collection, processing, analysis, evaluation, and reporting for over 90 years. Whether your project is big or small, we can help turn your research and assessment questions into actionable insights. USAS Services include Survey Services, provided by the MN Center for Survey Research.
- Minnesota Supercomputing Institute provides advanced research computing infrastructure and expertise to the U of M research and scholarly community. MSI’s services include support and consultation, computing and processing, and data management and specialized services.
- Data Science and AI Hub: The DSAI Hub is a university-wide nexus of multidisciplinary collaboration and information sharing. It provides communication, coordination, integration, and amplification of campus-wide Data Science and AI activities. It also puts a spotlight on annual focus areas by providing education, funding, and research assistance.
Other Disciplinary or Collegiate Research Support
- U-Spatial, U of M Research and Innovation Office: U-Spatial advances the fast-growing need for expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and spatial computing across the U of M. This infrastructure eliminates duplication and fragmentation of resources by providing a framework of spatial data, equipment, and expertise. Its services and activities include help desk, training, consulting, and events.
- College of Education and Human Development: Research Methodology Consulting Center: With a combination of services unique to education and human development research, RMCC offers consulting on everything from developing a hypothesis and selecting the appropriate statistical analysis to the development of data collection protocols and reporting templates, with expertise in quantitative research methods. RMCC primarily serves graduate students, faculty, and researchers in CEHD, but also works with external partners.
- College of Education and Human Development: Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI): CAREI connects research and practice in service of equitable outcomes for all learners. It focuses on customized answers for students and families, teachers, workforces, organizations, or communities. Services include data and analytics support, measure development and assessment services, program evaluation, and translational research.
- Office of Academic and Clinical Affairs: Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) provides a comprehensive infrastructure of research services, training, grants, tools, and more, with the aim of accelerating discoveries toward better health.
- College of Biological Sciences: Research & Learning Technologies: CBS-RLT applies computer science, electrical engineering, and learning technology disciplines to support research and learning.
