PhD Alumna Madison Van Oort Recipient of 2019 "Best Dissertation Award"

Madison Van Oort, Sociology PhD alumna, is the recipient of the 2019 University of Minnesota Graduate School's "Best Dissertation Award" in Social Sciences and Education for her dissertation, "Retail Capital: Laboring in an Era of Fast Fashion".

This is a considerable honor for Madison, for dissertation advisors Teresa Gowan and David Pellow, and for our program, as well as a tribute to Madison's excellent research record. Congratulations, Madison!

Madison currently resides in Minneapolis and is an instructor in sociology at Saint Paul College.
