Internships & Real-World Applications
The Department of Communication Studies and the wider University community offer a wide variety of opportunities to become more engaged, well-rounded members of the community. Below are just a few ways you can become involved with work that will enhance your understanding of academic topics.
Internships
Take advantage of the invaluable work and academic experience gained through pursuing an internship.
Community Engagement
Community engagement allows you to interact with the community outside of the University's doors and see communication studies in action.
Undergraduate Research and Directed Activities
Gain valuable research experience as an undergraduate by participating in hands-on historical research. As an undergraduate, you can work closely with faculty members on their research or pursue a research project of your own under the guidance of a faculty member. Opportunities for independent study, research, and contributing as a teaching assistant in the classroom are available as well. Here are two playlists, Playlist 1 and Playlist 2, of our students' media production projects from various classes.
"We have some challenges, but the vibe is good. I think people are doing their best."
