We offer graduate seminars each semester that provide students with a core body of knowledge applicable to a wide range of research questions (see list of Recent Graduate Courses). Our courses also enable MA and PhD students to explore specific research areas in the field and introduce them to critical methodologies for the analysis of literary/cultural texts and visual media. Seminar topics vary annually, and range from medieval to contemporary Germanic literature, philosophy, film, and culture. Graduate courses in other departments add interdisciplinary breadth—from anthropology, cultural studies & comparative literature, English, French, geography, and history, to museum studies and theatre arts.
