Financial Resources
The Department of Psychology and University of Minnesota encourage a diverse representation of perspectives and provide funding support for initiatives that center and elevate the experiences of those from underrepresented backgrounds. Some examples of such opportunities include, but are not limited to:
Tri-Psych Graduate Student Diversity Fund
The Tri-Psychology departments–Department of Educational Psychology, Department Psychology, and Institute for Child Development–at the University of Minnesota are deeply committed to supporting students in the psychological sciences, including those who come from backgrounds historically underrepresented in the field of psychology. Together, the departments strive to create welcoming, affirming, and inclusive spaces and seek to foster respectful exchanges of ideas that allow us to embrace the power of diversity of perspectives and backgrounds to enrich us all.
The goal of this award is to fund graduate student-led initiatives that foster cross-departmental collaborations, including proposals that provide opportunities to encourage and support students, gain insights from shared and differing experiences and perspectives, and build stronger relationships across the three departments (Educational Psychology, Institute for Child Development, and Psychology). Initiatives that support students from all identity backgrounds are welcomed, in addition to those historically underrepresented. Current students are emailed annually with a call for applications.
