Minor of the Month!

8. Minor of the Month - Theatre Arts Minor!

Are you interested in pairing a minor with your Psychology Major? Each month the Department of Psychology will highlight a minor program and the benefits of pairing it with your Psychology major! The Theatre Arts Minor is geared to any students who wish to continue their theatre education and participation without adding a heavy course load to their major. Students majoring in human and social sciences will find this major can deepen their understanding of the human condition through a robust exploration of a vibrant art form. The Theatre Arts minor was reduced this year from 24 to 16 credits, making it even easier to incorporate this minor into your graduation plan. 3 of the required 5 courses are interest-specific, so students can choose to focus on acting/directing, design/technology, or literature/criticism. Students also complete one lab practicum in the shop of their choice. Students studying Psychology will find value in exploring an artistic perspective on how people develop and make choices. Many students find themselves referencing their theater background in their Psychology courses and applying psychological principles to the projects in their Theatre Arts courses. If you're interested in declaring a Minor in Theatre Arts, visit their website!
