Del Toro Awarded Seed Grant to Investigate the Impact of Discrimination on Ethnic/Racial Minority Twin Adolescent’s Mental Health

Congratulations to Juan Del Toro for receiving a seed grant of $4,250 for his project “An Intensive Longitudinal Study of Ethnic/Racial Minority Twin Adolescents.”

Del Toro aims to examine the effect of discrimination on mental health within twin differences and test the interaction of ethnic/racial identity and discrimination in the twin's health. This funding for primary data collection is expedited to provide Del Toro with more evidence as he applies for an NIH R01 grant to support a comprehensive longitudinal study on the mental health of twins with diverse backgrounds.
