Congratulations to Linh Nguyen for receiving the Heritage Dissertation Research Award from The Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) and the 2022-23 Summer Graduate Research Grant from Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology. Nguyen earned these awards for the project titled, “Investigating Assortative Mating Patterns by Expanding Personality Assessments Beyond Static and Universal Personality Traits.

The Heritage Dissertation Research Award, a $2,000 award, aims to support the expenses associated with conducting dissertation research in social and personality psychology. It also pays tribute to the rich history of personality and social psychology by recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to the field.

In addition, Nguyen was also granted the 2022-2023 Summer Graduate Research Grant for the same project. This grant is designed to provide financial assistance to well-rounded individuals who demonstrate competence and commitment to psychology’s best research practices. Its purpose is to reduce the direct costs associated with the student’s research and introduce them to the process of applying for and managing research grants.
