Juan Del Toro Receives $392,258 NIDA Grant

Juan Del Toro

Congratulations to Juan Del Toro for receiving $392,258 from NIDA’s (National Institute on Drug Abuse) Diversity Supplement Program for the project titled “Leveraging quasi-experimental methods to examine the longitudinal relations among legal system exposure, substance use, neurocognition, and education.”

This NIH supplement funding will support Del Toro’s training in criminal legal system research by expanding his methodological toolkit and enhancing his grantsmanship. The research, as part of the diversity supplement, will broadly examine the longitudinal associations between criminal legal system exposure and substance use among adolescents and adults, using secondary longitudinal data as part of the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study and the Minnesota Center for Twin Family Research (MCTFR).
