In a recent Washington Post article titled “The fight for Asian American studies in colleges gains ground,” Dr. Rich Lee addresses the negative consequences for Asian American and Black communities regarding suppressing Black studies while Asian American studies are growing across US college campuses. Lee says that this “pushback against critical race theory and African American studies'' represents how legislators use Asian Americans as a “racial wedge” creating the “model minority stereotype.”
