These $500 scholarship awards honor a psychology major's dedication to volunteer work and unpaid internships within the community. It aims to offer financial support to those who engage in real-world learning experiences outside the classroom.
As a recipient of this scholarship, I have dedicated my time to advocating and caring for people in healthcare through my involvement in Hennepin Healthcare and research. My roles have included volunteering as a crisis counselor, Certified Nursing Assistant, and more. Additionally, I engage with the community to promote mental health awareness, especially for individuals from diverse communities. This financial support enables me to focus more intently on my research and community engagement efforts without the burden of covering my costs for books and tuition. It allows me to dedicate my time and energy to my studies and enhance the impact of my work in the field of healthcare.
I am currently a project management intern at CHOYCES LLC, an organization that provides tutoring and educational consultation services. They provide individualized services in order to provide access to education to all students of different backgrounds and learning styles. In this internship, I am responsible for coordinating project schedules, managing resources, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables. I collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve project efficiency. This financial support is beneficial in funding my summer classes, allowing me to advance my education while pursuing my summer internship at CHOYCES LLC.
