The UMAC Initiative Celebrates its First Cohort Year

The University of Minnesota Advanced Careers (UMAC) Initiative, led by Founding Director and Sociology Professor Phyllis Moen, is an innovative pathway for experienced professionals seeking both personal renewal and ways to leverage their talents for the common good. UMAC blends coming back to school with hands–on community engagement and personal/career development in a multigenerational learning community. This spring UMAC celebrated the completetion of its first cohort year, with plans to offer new opportunities in the upcoming 2018-19 academic year.
