Applying to Law School
This workshop is open to all UMN students and alumni, but it’s especially for those who know they're going to law school and would like guidance about the application process. We'll discuss application materials and deadlines, as well as how to prepare your materials so that you are the best law school applicant you can be. If you’re currently in the application process for fall 2020 or thinking ahead to fall 2021 admission, this is the place for you.
Tuesday, March 24th, 4-5pm (webinar)
Personal Statements 101
This is a great workshop for students interested in learning the basics of preparing a personal statement, how it is used in the admissions process, how to choose a topic and begin writing, and how you can get feedback on your draft.
To learn more about personal statements, visit z.umn.edu/PS101
Open to CLA students and Pre-Law students.
Check Out Our Online Module for Pre-Law Students
Pre-Law 101 Module. This module is perfect for someone just starting to explore law school and outlines how to explore, ways to gain experience and a brief overview of the timeline and application process. This module is available for currently enrolled University of Minnesota students only.
Individual appointments with the Pre-Law Advisor are available to students and alumni from any college who are actively in the application process, or who have already completed a workshop or drop-in session and have further questions.
Virtual Peer Advisor Appointments
Email email@example.com to set up a virtual appointment with the Pre-Law peer advisor. These appointments are about 15-30 minutes and are a great way to learn about pre-law at the U, get a general overview of the law school application process, and figure out how to get engaged with law-related opportunities on or near campus. Freshman and sophomore pre-law students - start with the Online Module or a peer advisor appointment to ensure you are on the right track toward a successful law school application in the future!
