The fully online certificate in technical communication program provides graduate-level instruction for students to develop or enhance their knowledge and skills in technical communication. Courses introduce students to the field of technical communication and cover topics such as writing with digital technologies, information design, usability and human factors, and editing and style.

The certificate program prepares students for jobs such as technical writer and editor, web content writer and management, information architect, online content/social media editor, and e-learning designer.

You may begin the program in fall, spring, or summer semester and complete five online courses (15 credits). Most students complete the program in either one or two years, depending on the number of courses they take each semester.

All five certificate courses transfer to the MS degree upon successful completion of the certificate and admission to the MS program.
